Studies have over the years showed that water is one of the most effective and environment-friendly ways of suppressing dust. Its effectiveness is enhanced when it is delivered under high pressure and this explains the relevance of fog cannon in the modern methods of suppressing dust. However, it is important to note that there are various methods of controlling and they may need to be combined depending on what is economically viable in a particular situation. Water, for example, is very effective but dries up fast especially during the hot water conditions or temperatures and so may have to be applied frequently and this may increase the overall cost. So, in a situation where it has been determined that water is the best method and should be delivered under high pressure, fog cannon will do just that. How they work: Also known as the high-pressure misting system, this cannon delivers fog or mist of very fine droplets of water in the form of mist cloud to the dust problem. The system can deliver water droplets as small as 5 to 10 microns. This small size makes these particles capable of floating through the dust particles cloud thereby binding them together and creating heavy mass. This heavy mass cannot remain airborne and so it will fall to the ground. The greatest advantage of this system is that it helps control dust without necessarily wetting the area. In order to achieve the maximum suppression of dust, the water particles must be of smaller or similar size to the dust particles hence the need for pressure. The modern fogging or misting cannons deliver water molecules which remove almost any dust particle you can think of. Most of the dust particles have a diameter ranging from 1 micron to 100 microns. In order to attract these particles, the water droplets must be dispersed via various types of materials so as to ensure it bonds with them. Is it the ideal dust control method for you? Misting and fogging systems are available in various sizes so they can be deployed on small scale or large scale. In addition to controlling dust, these systems help cool the environment thanks to the fine water droplets they release into the atmosphere.
